Concept Description
Epoch-Making Palace
Located at the intersection of two historic streets — Nizhnyaya Krasnoselskaya and Olkhovskaya — the project introduces an ambitious landmark residence, where a contemporary vertical volume rises above carefully restored public buildings at its base.
The proposal creates a unique dialogue between the historic and the new.
In memory of Nikolay Ernestovich Bauman, his courage, and his pursuit of freedom and truth, part of the existing historic fabric is preserved and reimagined as a residents’ club — “Typography” or “Bauman Lounge.” Surrounded by a distinctive alder courtyard garden, this space becomes a place for meeting, reflection, and contemplation within the vibrant and densely layered Krasnoselsky district.
The main volume of the club residence rises above its surroundings with deliberate intensity. Its scale is intentionally amplified to create a clear contrast with the historic buildings, while entering into dialogue with them as part of a new urban era.
A monumental entrance portal anchors the corner of the block, while the restrained, rhythmic façade emphasizes the elegance and rigor of the residence. Together, the preserved heritage and the new architectural gesture form a contemporary metropolitan precedent — a synergy of history, memory, and modernity.
